Fred Sladen & Sons Ltd are jewellery manufacturers and wholesalers supplying retail jewellers, gift and souvenir shops

We specialise in designing and making jewellery with precious metals and set with precious stones.

Skilled staff and a fully equipped workshop give us complete control over all aspects of production ensuring a consistently high standard of quality.

We use New Zealand gold and all our products are New Zealand made.

	History The business was founded by Fred Sladen ( 1854 - 1925 ) who lived in Yorkshire, England. He emigrated to New Zealand in the 1890's for health reasons and set up business in Christchurch.

Irving Sladen	After his death in 1925 the business continued in the hands of his sons Reg and Irving. Reg was succeeded by son-in-law Fred Dowie and Irving by son Howard Sladen.
	Fred Dowie was one of the first New Zealanders to become a gemmologist and distinguished himself by winning the Tully Medal from the Gemmological Association of Great Britain in 1964.
	Today Sladens is managed by Fred Sladen's great grandchildren, Richard and Anthony Dowie.
